A cast of has been actors plan to revive their careers in Drop Dead!,
a potboiler murder mystery directed by "Wonder Child of the Broadway
Stage" Victor Le Pewe (a psychotic eye twitching megalomaniac). At the
dress rehearsal, the set falls, props break, and the producer and an actor are
murdered. During the opening night performance, the murders continue. The
remaining thespians must save the show and their careers, solve the mystery
and stay alive for curtain calls.
Alabama Miller, the playwright, has written a 'wonderful' new play
and has gotten noted director, Victor Le Pewe, to direct it. And
what a dream cast he has put together....Mona Monet, the famous TV
star; Brent Reynolds, the experienced actor; Chaz Looney, the
new apprentice actor, and Constance Crawford, the aging, but well-known
stage star. The only 'fly in the ointment' comes from Sol Weisenheimer
the producer who has insisted that his 'protégé' Candy Apples (former
porn star) be given a role in the play. Then there is the 'actor off the
street' Dick Shalit, who is known to none of the others. And of
course there is Phillip, the harried stage manager who tries to hold it
all together. We join this madcap group at their final dress
rehearsal......and let the fun begin!!!
Drop Dead! needs ten actors
- 7 men and 3 women.
