Amanda has been a star of both stage and screen (emphasis on "has been"). In hopes of reviving her career, she has returned to her hometown, Buffalo, to star as Mme. Lyubov Ranevskaya in a local production of Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard. Roy, the production's Stage Manager, Debbie, his eager assistant, and Jackie, the determined Director, are all excited to have a "big name" in their show. But, what will happen if she gets a better offer, or if she really is "over the hill"?

Characters, in order of appearance:

Roy - 30ish, professional
Debbie - 20ish, eager
Jackie - 30ish, ambitious
Amanda - 50ish grande dame
James - 50ish, "Othello"
Dan - 50ish, torchbearer

Buffalo Gal will open on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 8 PM, with evening performances on March 5, 11, 12, 18, and 19, and a Sunday matinee performance at 2 PM on March 13.

Auditions for Buffalo Gal will be in mid-January 2011. Specific dates will be announced soon. Rehearsals will begin the following week, 3 nights each week, on a schedule to be established by director and cast.
